IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore and Australia spinner Adam Zampa issues clarification on the statements he gave about IPL’s bio-bubble. Zampa had said that out of all the bio-bubbles he has played in cricket; IPL's bio-bubble is the most vulnerable. Zampa also said that the tournament should have been held in the UAE like last year. He and Ken Richardson have decided to withdraw from the tournament citing personal reasons. Both of these players landed in Melbourne on Thursday.

Zampa clarified in the statement that his comments had nothing to do with virus entering the bio-bubble easily.

“... My comments about the vulnerability of the IPL bubble had nothing to do with feeling like the virus would enter the bubble at any stage. The BCCI and RCB had many precautions to make us feel safe. I believe the tournament is in great hands and will definitely see the finish line," he said.

He also thanked the RCB administration for complying with their request to return back to their home country.

He said: "... Thanks to RCB management for the way they dealt with the situation. As soon as we made the choice that we felt the right thing to do was to come home, they were fully supportive and did everything they could to help. Their understanding of the situation made the process a lot easier."

"I am understanding the velocity of the situation in India and my thoughts go out to the whole country. It was a personal choice to leave for several reasons,” he concluded.

Adam Zampa and Richardson will spend the next two weeks in quarantine in Melbourne.
