IPL 2021 Qualifier 1, DC Vs CSK: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) in the first qualifier match of IPL 2021 yesterday to advance to the final, all thanks to Dhoni's impressive innings.

CSK required 13 runs in the last over. Facing Tom Curran, Dhoni in his signature style hit three consecutive boundaries and took CSK to the final of the IPL for the record ninth time.

RCB captain Virat Kohli also praised Dhoni's spectacular innings and described him as the best finisher in the history of the sport.

Kohli took to Twitter to laud Dhoni's performance during the qualifier match. He tweeted, "The king is back, the best finisher of cricket has once again done wonders today. Once again his innings have made me dance with joy."

Dhoni has been named mentor of Virat Kohli-led Team India in the T20 World Cup to be held in UAE this year, right after the IPL.

Thrilling Last Over

Chasing a target of 173 runs from DC, Chennai needed 13 runs to win in the last over. Tom Curran stirred trouble for Chennai by dismissing Moeen Ali on the very first ball of his over.

Captain Dhoni, who was on the crease at the time, started putting pressure on the Delhi team by hitting two consecutive fours on the second and third balls. The pressure on Curran was clearly evident when he delivered a wide ball right after this.

Now, Chennai needed four runs to win off three balls. Captain Dhoni ended the match with a spectacular four.
