'Gabbar' of Delhi Capitals, Shikhar Dhawan, has scripted history tonight in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 as he succeeded in scoring a century in the match against Kings XI Punjab on Tuesday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Shikhar Dhawan tonight scored his second century in IPL 2020 against Kings XI Punjab in the 38th match of IPL 2020. With this, he became the first batsman in the history of IPL to score back-to-back tons.

Before this game in his last match, Dhawan had scored 101 runs against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The senior opener has attained yet another unique record by scoring a century against Punjab. He has also become the 14th batsman in IPL history to score more than one century. Dhawan has become the 9th batsman to score two centuries in IPL. The stylish batsman is now the first batsman to score a century in 2 consecutive matches in the history of IPL.

Prior to Dhawan, this feat has been achieved by Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and David Warner. At the same time, Shikhar Dhawan has also completed 400 runs this season. KL Rahul is the only batsman who has scored more than 400 runs in IPL 2020.

A stunning ton from senior opener Shikhar Dhawan propelled Delhi Capitals to 164/5 against Kings XI Punjab at Dubai on Tuesday. Delhi Capitals were off to a great star as they managed to attain 53 runs in the first six overs (powerplay) even after losing star opener Prithvi Shaw for just seven runs.

If Delhi Capitals attain a win, they will cement a spot on top of the IPL 2020 points table while a win for Kings XI Punjab will help them survive and keep their playoffs qualifying chances alive.
