The 33rd match of the Indian Premier League saw a thrilling finish on Saturday. There stormy innings from AB De Villiers (22-ball 55) against Rajasthan turned the match. Chasing a target of 178 runs by Rajasthan, De Villiers gritty knock helped Bangalore win by 7 wickets in 19.4 overs. It was seen for the second time in the tournament that AB de Villiers scored a fiery half-century to pull Bangalore back into the game and hand them a win.


The batsman single-handedly overturned the match in RCB's favor. RCB needed 35 runs in the last two overs, which was achieved by De Villiers, courtesy an explosive innings as he ended up scoring an unbeaten 55 off 22 balls.

The 19th over of the game was the turning point of the match for Bangalore with de Villiers scoring 3 successive sixes in Jaydev Unadkat's over. The team needed 35 runs off 12 balls and after De Villiers heroics, Bangalore had to get just 10 runs off last 6 balls. De Villiers helped Bangalore seal a remarkable win by hitting the fourth ball of Jofra Archer's last over for a maximum into the stands.

De Villiers completed his half-century with a six off the 22nd ball. With this six, he completed a half-century off 25 balls or less balls for the 8th time. The South African legend also became the second batsman in IPL 2020 to do so. He has now equaled Sunrisers captain David Warner. Earlier he was in second place with Kieron Pollard.

During this innings, AB de Villiers also completed 4000 runs playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore as soon as scored the 15th run. He had 3985 RCB runs in his kitty before this match and after the match against RR, he has 4040 runs to his name.
