India’s young batter Rishabh Pant had a horrific car accident when he was traveling on the Delhi-Dehradun highway last December. He sustained multiple injuries and is still recuperating. As a result, he has been ruled out from the ongoing IPL 2023. Stylish West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran has empathized with what Pant is going through. It took close to six months for Pant to walk again.

"It's very challenging. It's one where no one understands. Sometimes, I can remember… I have been chatting with Rishabh obviously. Both of us have a really good relationship.

"But there are times when you go into a place where you're very depressed, and frustrated because you want the healing process to happen so fast. But it's difficult," Pooran said.

"Sometimes you don't see progress. In life, you want to see progress, you want it to happen so fast, but it doesn't happen the whole time. It's very challenging, but need to believe in yourself.

The West Indies batter was once hospitalized after meeting in a car accident eight years ago.

"Need to believe that whatever happened, happened for a reason. Can't question it, because you won't get an answer. You need to believe in your God as well. Have faith in yourself, have faith in your hard work."

The multiple Injuries have forced Pant to miss out on playing the 2023 season of the Indian Premier League and also the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. The Delhi-based player was seen with Delhi Capitals’ team during their practice session ahead of the DC vs RCB clash. Earlier,  the left-hander also visited Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi to support his team on April 4 in their clash against Gujarat Titans.
