Mumbai Indians (MI) locked horns against Gujarat Titans (GT) in their IPL 2024 opener at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (March 25). While MI had a new captain at the helm of affairs in Hardik Pandya, he will have massive boots to fill with him replacing one of the tournament's most successful captains Rohit Sharma, the man who has led them to each of their five titles to date.
The decision to replace Rohit as captain led to a huge uproar on social media and in cricketing circles with fans and a section of cricket experts not too pleased with the franchise's decision to replace him as the captain. And now, a video on X claims that fans of both the cricketers fought in the stands during the MI vs GT clash on Sunday.

What's The Truth Behind The Rohit Sharma-Hardik Pandya Fans' Fighting Viral Video?
While social media ussers have suggested that the video is from two groups of supporters backing Rohit and Pandya each, ABP Live could not independently verify the authenticity of the claim. The clip though is definitely from a live cricket contest at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmeadbad. The exact cause of the fight between the fans is unknown.
Talking about the GT vs MI clash, Mumbai failed to break their jinx of losing their campaign opener every year since the 2012 edition of the tournament. The trend continued despite a change in captains this year as Hardik-led MI lost to GT by 6 runs. MI will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their next match on March 27 (Wednesday) which happens to be a home game for them and will be played at the Wankhede Stadium.
