The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a tournament which helps unearth talents and give them global recognition. One of the finds of this tournament already has been Rinku Singh. The Uttar Pradesh batter had been doing well in the domestic cricket circuit as well but it wasn't until that night at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad did he become a household name in India.

Needing 29 to win off the final over, Singh slammed five sixes off the final 5 balls to help Kolkata Knight Riders register an unlikely win. That innings brought so much joy and ecstasy to not just him but all his teammates and KKR fans but it wasn't the same for Gujarat Titans and especially for Yash Dayal who was on the receiving end of the Rinku carnage.

And after Gujarat's win over Mumbai Indians, captain Hardik Pandya has revealed that the fast bowler has fallen ill after that game. Hardik said that Dayal is not in a good condition as of now after taking a hammering from Singh on April 9.

"He fell ill and lost 7-8 kilos after that match. There was a spread of viral infection during that period and also due to the pressure he had faced, his condition is presently not good enough to take the field. Someone’s loss is someone’s gain at the end of the day. It is going to take a long time before we see him on the field," Hardik said on Star Sports' post match show after GT's win over MI.

Dayal had picked 11 wickets in 9 matches for the defending champions in IPL 2022 but wasn't at this best this year. In the three matches, the 25-year-old did not pick up a single wicket but that final over further spoiled his figures with his economy overall in this edition going past 15.

After the win, KKR had shared a message of encouragement for Yash.

“Chin up, lad. Just a hard day at the office, happens to the best of players in cricket. You’re a champion, Yash, and you’re gonna come back strong,” KKR's official social media handle had put out.
