IPL 2021, KKR vs MI: Mumbai Indians' batting did not even come close to what they have a reputation of delivering. Suryakumar Yadav was the only bowler to have crossed the 50-run mark. The way Surya brought up his 50 was mesmerizing to say the least. He hit Kolkata Knight Riders' prime bowler, Pat Cummins for a 99 meter long six over the mid-wicket fence.
Suryakumar was batting on 44 when Cummins ran in to bowl in the 10th over. The fifth ball of the over was hit for a huge six. It was like watching the combination of Yuvraj and MS Dhoni. Why? Because the shot had the elegant flick of Yuvraj and the Helicopter throttle like Dhoni. Yadav managed to put the ball in the dark Chennai sky.
Hardik Pandya's reaction to the six was child-like. He, just like a thousand others was not able to believe the shot that Suryakumar Yadav hit to reach 50 runs.
Take a look at the video:
Kolkata Knight Riders managed to restrict MI for a score of 152 runs in their 20 overs. MI batsmen couldn't score much of KKR's bowlers. Things look pretty good for the team from Kolkata!
Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders is a blockbuster game on any day of the week. This fixture was dominated by MI over the years. In fact, Kolkata Knight Riders were not able to register a win against Mumbai Indians for the first three seasons of the IPL. Mumbai Indians’ head-to-head record against KKR is also very good. Mumbai has 21-6 in their favor.
