Talking about the match, it was a superb game of cricket between the two teams. While LSG dominated the majority of the game and at one stage had seemingly knocked on the doors of a win with 39 required off 45 balls with 9 wickets in hand, GT found a way to come back into the match out of nowhere.

GT bowlers did not concede a single boundary in the last 7 overs and dried up the runs to exert pressure. In the end the equation was down to 17 from 12 balls and even then LSG looked favourites with 7 wickets in hand especially with a set KL Rahul out in the middle.

However, a superb penultimate over from Mohammed Shami meant GT fancied their chances in the final over. Shami used all his experience and gave away just 5 runs, leaving Mohit Sharma 11 runs to defend off the final six deliveries.

In the final over, IPL's comeback man Mohit Sharma scalped 2 wickets while 2 other batters got run out as LSG could only add 4 runs to finish their innings at 128/7, to lose the match by 7 runs.

LSG captain KL Rahul started off by playing a maiden over, ended powerplay at 30* off 19 and eventually departed for 68 off 61. He struggled to make sense of how his team lost from a winning position.

"I don't know how it has happened. It happened too fast. I can't put a finger on where we let the game slip, which was in our pocket," he said after the match.
