Gujarat Titans (GT), champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022 and runners-up in season 2023, kicked off their 2024 season against the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at their home ground in Ahmedabad on March 24 (Sunday). Led by Shubman Gill, GT beat Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians by six runs in a thriller.
At first, only the schedule for the initial 21 matches until April 7 was disclosed due to conflicts with the Lok Sabha Elections in the country. Nonetheless, on Monday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) disclosed the remaining schedule of IPL 2024, affirming that the final will be conducted in Chennai on May 26th.
All 74 matches of the tournament are slated to take place in India, with consideration given to the dates of the general elections. The pivotal phases of the competition are earmarked to occur in Ahmedabad and Chennai.
