Gujarat Titans (GT) sealed a spot in IPL 2023 Playoffs by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Monday (May 15). GT will take on RCB in their next IPL 2023 match and most likely will rest their key players. If this happens, RCB, who play a 'do-or-die' clash against the defending champions, will get a big relief. The heroes of GT's 34-run win over KKR were Shubman Gill and Mohammed Shami. While Shubman played one of the best knocks of his IPL career to complete his maiden ton in Indian Premier League (IPL), Shami, the veteran pacer, produced stunning figures of 4 wickets for 20 runs, making him the Purple Cap winner (highest wicket-taker) at present.

After GT vs SRH IPL 2023 match got over, ex-India coach Ravi Shastri quizzed Shami about dietary secret behind his performance. Shastri asked Shami about what kind of food he eats as his bowling performance has improved tons.
Ravi Shastri asks Mohammed Shami: Tell me what food do you eat? You are becoming even stronger. It's been one and a half months, the temperature is rising but you are running even at faster speeds.
Mohammed Shami's cheekly reply: "Gujarat mein hun, mera khaana nahi milega na. Lekin Gujarati food enjoy kar raha hun (I am in Gujarat. I won't get my food here. But, I am enjoying Gujarati food nonetheless.)"
Shami reserved big praise for his teammate and GT pacer Mohit Sharma who bagged 4 wickets in the match.
"I was focusing on my strengths and trying to keep it tight. I always try to bowl in good areas. Just like the game against Delhi, the ball was moving off the deck. It's very good to have a pacer like Mohit Sharma in the middle overs who uses the variations smartly," Shami said.
