Ravi Shastri, the former India cricketer, is known for his voice and energy as a broadcaster. The ex-Indian men's cricket team head coach lived up to his reputation as a commentator when he hosted the toss for the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 final at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday (March 17). Shastri was quick to get the energy rolling as he introduced the captains Meg Lanning of the Delhi Capitals and Smriti Mandhana of the Royal Challengers Bangalore along with the match referee and toss representative.
As it turned out, it was the home captain Meg Lanning who won the toss and elected to bat first. However, fans on social media went crazy as the Ravi Shastri infused energy with his voice ahead of the WPL 2024 final being played between DC and RCB. Some suggested that he was meant for the big occasion, while others hailed his energy.
Even though Lanning did not have a good record at the toss, she did win the toss ahead of a crucial toss.
