With a place in the final at stake in this match, fans are closely following every aspect of the fixture. A section of the fans wondered why was the dot ball being represented by a dot ball symbol during this Playoff match. This is because of the green initiave started by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

What Is The BCCI Green Initiative For IPL Playoffs?

The BCCI Green Initiative was started last year exclusively for the Playoff matches under which the Indian Cricket Board plants 500 saplings for every dot ball bowled in the business end of the competition. BCCI had planted a total of 1,47,000 saplings at the end of the previous edition of the tournament as 294 dot deliveries had been bowled. The same trend will be continued this year with the BCCI planning to plant 500 trees for every dot ball.
