Defending champions Mumbai Indians completely decimated Delhi Capitals in today's battle at Dubai. After MI speedsters Jasprit Bumrah (3/17) and Trent Boult (3/21) wreaked havoc in the first innings, Delhi Capitals had only 110 to defend, following a very disappointing performance from its batsmen. DC bowlers failed to perform any miraculous performance as MI were off to a solid start in the chase. The solid 68-run opening stand from De Kock (28-ball 26) and Kishan (47-ball 72) helped Mumbai Indians easily chase the target in the 15th over to win the match by nine wickets and deny DC a chance to seal a spot in the IPL 2020 play-offs with 16 points.

Chasing 111 for the win, Mumbai openers Quinton de Kock and Ishan Kishan started steadily in the chase. Delhi Capitals needed to breakthrough early but the openers showed their class with the bat and notched up a fifty-run partnership in just 8.1 overs. The duo continued to score boundaries at their own will by finding the gaps easily.

Proteas speedster Anrich Nortje got the first breakthrough for his team and broke the 68-run opening stand by castling his South African compatriot Quinton de Kock for 28-ball 26. With the target just now 43 runs away, Kishan soon notched up a quick 37-ball half-century -- his 6th 50 in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Earlier, sensational bowling from Mumbai Indians' lethal speedsters Jasprit Bumrah (3/17) and Trent Boult (3/21) left Delhi Capitals in tatters and restricted them to 110/9. Delhi Capitals' half of the batting lineup was send back to the dugout by MI bowlers for less than 75 runs on board.

The franchise got a really bad start in the match as both their openers Dhawan (0) and Shaw (10) were dismissed early on by Trent Boult. DC were left 87/7 wickets at the end of the 16th over. Kagiso Rabada led the effort from the lower middle order and took them past the 100-run mark.
