DC vs MI HIGHLIGHTS: Delhi Capitals (DC) beat Mumbai Indians by 29 runs in their Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 face-off at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Jemimah Rodrigues was the chief architect of Delhi's win as she remained unbeaten on 69 off 33 to power Delhi to 192/4 after they were sent in to bat first by MI in what was a top of the table clash.

Other than Rodrigues' fine half-century that completely shifted the momentum towards Delhi, captain Meg Lanning also scored a half-century and laid the foundation for Rodrigues-powered finish. Lanning scored 53 off 38 deliveries. For Mumbai, it was Pooja Vastrakar who was the pick of the bowlers bowling her 4 overs for 20 runs and picking up a wicket in a game where the opposition went for 9.6 runs per over. Shabnim Ismail, Saika Ishaque and Hayley Matthews were the other wicket-takers for MI.

DC vs MI, WPL 2024: Amanjot Kaur's Valiant Knock In Vain

In response to Delhi's massive first innings total, MI never got going and ended up losing four wickets inside the powerplay itself. Yastika Bhatia, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Harmanpreet Kaur  and Hayley Matthews all went back to the pavilion while the fielding restrictions were on and from there on the side were always behind in the game. Even though Amanjot Kaur, who hadn't got much of a hit in the tournament prior to this fixture, did end up putting on a fight scoring 42 off 27 deliveries, they could only muster 163/8 on the board.

The win consolidates Delhi's position at the top of the table. Before the match both sides had three wins from four matches with Delhi having a better net run rate, Delhi now not only have eight points but have done no harm to their net run rate (NRR) either, having registered a clinical victory. MI though remain at six points after five matches.
