RR WIN!! Despite an MS Dhoni special in the end, RR win by 3 runs. Middle overs of the run-chase is where they lost, MSD reckons. But what a game, another one which went down to the final ball. RR's third win in four games has taken them to the top of the points table.

WICKET! Another one goes down and Conway goes back for 50 off 38 balls and Chahal takes the wicket. CSK need 63 runs in 30 balls. Required run rate- 12.60.
CSK have lost wickets in quick succession here. Post the dismissal of Rahane, they have lost Shivam Dube, Moeen Ali and Ambati Rayudu. Jadeja and Conway out in the middle now with the Kiwi batter bringing up his half-century.
WICKET! Against the run of play, Rahane departs for 31 and Ashwin gets the wicket. CSK- 78/2 now in 9.3 overs. They need 98 runs in 63 balls.
Rahane and Conway have kept CSK's chase on track. Rahane continues his good form. He is 31 off 18. Conway is 36 from 28. CSK- 78/1
WICKET! Sandeep removes Gaikwad early. The batter departs for 8. Looking for a shot on the leg side but only managed to edge it. CSK- 10/1 after 2.2 overs.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway open the innings for CSK. Sandeep Sharma, Kuldeep Sen the new-ball bowlers for RR. No Trent Boult remember, who missed out due to a niggle.
END OF INNINGS. RR end their innings at 175/8 with the help of Buttler's 52 off 36, contributions from Padikkal (38) and Ashwin (30) and a brisk, unbeatean cameo worth 30 off 18 from Hetmyer.
WICKET! Jurel goes for 4 but it's that stage of the innings where batters look to go the big shot every other ball. He falls in the last ball of the 19th over, trying to clear the boundary. RR- 167-6 in 19 overs.
WICKET WICKET!! First Ashwin gets out followed by the danger man Jos Buttler just after he had scored a half-century. Ashwin falls to Akash Singh before Moeen bowls Buttler. CSK tighetned their grip on the match. Two new batters in Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel batting in the death overs for RR. Rajasthan- 157-5 after 18 overs. 13 of them came from the 18th over which was delivered by Deshpande.
RR- 110/3 after 13 overs. CSK have slowed down things here as far as the net run rate is concerned.
Buttler and Padikkal were going at a good rate and CSK had raced to 88 runs in the 9th over when the left-arm spin of Jadeja got the better of Padikkal and then cleaned up Rajasthan skipper Sanju Samson.
Double-wicket over from Jadeja that turns the match in CSK's favour.
Devdutt Padikkal joins Buttler after that wicket.
CSK- 11-1 in 1.4 overs. Jaiswal gets out for 10 after scoring a couple of boundaries in the first over of the innings which was bowled by Akash Singh.
Yashavi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler opened for RR but this isn't the best of starts for the inaugural champions. Tushar Deshpande has produced a WICKET in just the second over of the innings. And it is Jaiswal who has to walk back.

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the IPL 2023 contest between the Chennai Super Kings and the Rajasthan Royals set to begin in an hour's time from now. Both teams have won 2 of their first three matches but owing to a better net run rate, RR are ranked above CSK at the points table.
Background
Match number 17 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is all set to be played between the Chennai Super Kings and the Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidamambram Stadium in Chennai.
Both sides have two out of three wins so far in the T20 competition but the inaugural champions have a net run rate of +2.067 which is the reason they are second on the points table in contrast to the Yellow Army who are placed at the fifth place on the table with a net run rate of +0.356.
The match will be played at Chennai's den- the Chepauk where they enjoy a win percentage of 72. However, if there is one side that can neutralise the four-time winner's home advantage it has to be the Rajasthan with their bowling attack comprising of two world-class Indian spinners in Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Rajasthan, meanwhile, also have a certain Trent Boult in their ranks who has been superb in form and has delivered two double-wicket maidens already, both of them coming in the very first over to set the tempo for his side.
Both Rajasthan and Chennai batters have clicked, the cause of concern for Chennai would be their seam bowling but with spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner doing a good job already and the possibility of roping in Maheesh Theekshana in the Playing 11, they make an overall attack that can possess threat especially if the batter is caught in two minds while playing the spinners.
For MS Dhoni-led Chennai, Deepak Chahar will not play a part neither will Ben Stokes and hence Theeksana could be fit in. However, which players the franchise would drop would be interesting to see, if they decide to make any changes.
Sanju Samson's Rajasthan, meanwhile, do not have any major injury concerns.

RR: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson (captain/ wicketekeeper), Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel, Jason Holder, R Ashwin, M Ashwin, Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal
