3-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be the first and perhaps the only team that will hold its IPL camp in India. Despite the relentless attack of Covid-19 in Tamil Nadu, which has seen the state clocking a staggering 53336 active cases and a whopping 11,655 itself in the capital city Chennai, the popular franchise has managed to get approval from the state government to hold a short camp.

Starting August 17; CSK skipper MS Dhoni , Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh and other player of the franchise will be part of a camp before flying out in a chartered flight to UAE on the August 21.

Interestingly, other IPL teams too had sought permissions to hold a small camp but were turned down by the respective state associations. Delhi Capital too sought approval for a camp while Mumbai Indians had pondered a similar thought.

Some other franchise, however, aren't too sure of taking such a risk and want to start their session straight in the UAE.

Meanwhile, Virat Kolhi led RCB will be flying out in a chartered flight from Bengaluru on August 22 after their squad assembles in a team hotel and undergoes two Covid Tests as per protocols.

According to sources, very few teams will have their families escorting the players considering that they too will be subjected to strict bio-secure bubble protocols.
