Tamil Nadu-born Shahrukh Khan earned a colossal amount of money in the IPL 2021 Auction. The young talented cricketer was acquired by Punjab Kings for INR 5.25 crore.

Shahrukh Khan entered the auction with a base price of just Rs 20 lakh. Khan turned out to be one of the hottest prospects among the uncapped players in this year's auction.


After an intense bidding war between Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, the uncapped all-rounder was finally bought for a whopping Rs 5.25 crore by Punjab.


Punjab Kings' co-owner Preity Zinta had a animated reaction after successfuly bagging Shahrukh for IPL 14!



Shahrukh Khan had an awesome outing in the 2020 Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Despite this, he had remained unsold in last year's auction.  However, this year, the all-rounder heated up the auction room.


In the Mushtaq Ali Trophy this year, Shahrukh scored runs with a jaw-dropping strike rate of 220, in the four games he played.  


Shahrukh started his List A career on 27 February 2014, with the 2013–14 Vijay Hazare Trophy for Tamil Nadu. He made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu in Ranji Trophy 2018 on 6 December 2018.


IPL 2021 auction is currently taking place in Chennai for the 14th season of Indian Premier League (IPL). A total of eight franchises are bidding to acquire 61 players. 164 Indian, 125 foreign and 3 players from associate countries have been registered in the IPL 2021 auction list.
