New Delhi: IPL 2022 winner Gujarat Titans (GT) stunned the cricketing world on Saturday by posting a shocking tweet regarding star batter Shubman Gill. The franchise, under Hardik Pandya's leadership, won the IPL title in its very first season. Gujarat Titans, via its official Twitter handle, wished Shubman Gill 'All The Best' for his next endeavor, without giving away any particular reason or details.
GT's cryptic tweet left fans confused as many have started assuming that Shubman Gill will be leaving Gujarat Titans to join another franchise for the nex season of Indian Premier League i.e IPL 2023.
"It’s been a journey to remember. We wish you all the best for your next endeavour, @ShubmanGill!," said Titans in a tweet on Saturday. Gill responded to this tweet with a couple of emojis.
Star opener Shubman Gill was instrumental in making his team Gujarat Titans IPL winners in their very first season. The franchise had acquired Gill by bidding INR 8 crore. Gujarat's decision to beg Gill at such an expensive price was termed wrong by most of the experts as in the previous auction Gill was sold within INR 2 crores. Even though Gill was dismissed for a duck in his very first IPL 2022 match, he played some remarkable knocks for Gujarat throughout the tournament and led the team to a memorable win in IPL 2022 final by hitting a six.
In IPL 2022, Gill scored 483 runs in 16 matches with 4 fifties. He was the second highest run-scorer for Gujarat. Skipper Hardik Pandya scored 487, Gill scored 483 and David Miller scored 481 runs for Gujarat in IPL 2022.
