New Delhi: The hopes of Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) of setting up an epic Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 final against Gujarat Titans were crushed after their heartbreaking seven-wicket loss to Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022 Qualifier 2 on Friday. If RCB would have defeated Rajasthan, they would have reached their second IPL final since 2016.

Post Bangalore's exit from IPL 2022, former RCB skipper Virat Kohli took to Twitter to post a heartfelt post to thank the team management and fans. Along with the post, he also shared some pics from this year's IPL campaign.

"Sometimes you win, and sometimes you don't, but the 12th Man Army, you have been fantastic, always backing us throughout our campaign. You make cricket special. The learning never stops. (1/2)," he wrote.

"A big thanks to the management, support staff and all the people who are part of this amazing franchise. See you next season @RCBTweets #PlayBold (2/2)."

Virat Kohli ended the IPL 2022 season scoring 341 runs in 16 matches, with a strike rate of 115.99 runs at an average of 22.73 - lowest runs scored by him since IPL 2010.  In IPL 2017, he played only 10 matches and scored 308 runs. Kohli, the only batsman to have scored more than 6000 runs in the IPL so far, struggled with the bat this season. He got out for a Golden Duck thrice this year.
