New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batting icon Virat Kohli scored a sublime fifty against Gujarat Titans (GT) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. The star batter finally put his poor batting form behind against GT as he notched up his second fifty of the season to be adjudged 'man of the match'. His knock for RCB came in a must-win clash. A loss for Bangalore against Gujarat would have meant the end of their journey to the IPL 2022 playoffs campaign.

After the match, ex-RCB skipper Virat Kohli opened up on his future goals. The Indian batting icon expressed his desire to win the World Cup and Asia Cup for the Indian cricket team.

"I know how motivated I will be when the scores start coming. I want to win India the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup; that's the motivation," said to Kohli to Star Sports.

"I have to move forward maintaining a balance, get some rest, some rejuvenation, once I'm in the mindset then there's no looking back and... it's great fun. My main aim is to help India win the Asia Cup and the World Cup and for that I am ready to do anything for the team," he added.

Talking about his struggle to score runs, Kohli said he's going through the 'happiest phase of his life' and his drive to succeed will never die.

"I'm actually in the happiest phase of my life. I am not finding any self-worth or value in what I do on the field. I'm way past that phase. This is a phase of evolution for me. Not to say that I don't have the same drive, my drive will never die down. The day my drive goes away, I'll not be playing this game," said the former team India skipper.

Royal Challengers Bangalore's hopes of qualifying for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 playoffs will depend on the outcome of Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) match. RCB will manage to make it to playoffs if Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai beat Delhi Capitals in their match.
