New Delhi: Gujarat Titans (GT), one of the two new franchises set to make their debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) from this year, finally unveiled their official logo. The Titans launched the logo in the Metaverse on Sunday evening.

The addition of two new teams - Lucknow and Ahmedabad - in the IPL has now made the cash-rich tournament a 10-team affair. CVC group had shelled out a jaw-dropping Rs. 5625 crore to purchase the Titans franchise. For their inaugural season, the franchise named 'out-of-favor' Hardik Pandya as their captain.

There has been no change in the logos or names of the 8 teams that were part of IPL 2021 season. The second team who will make their IPL debut is KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants. The franchise was purchased by Sanjiv Goenka-owned RPSG group for a whopping Rs. 7090 crores.

Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans will play in this IPL.

Gujarat Titans at IPL 2022 Mega Auction

Gujarat Titans had an underwhelming auction after having drafted three potential match-winners in Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubman Gill. The inexperience in batting is glaringly obvious. If Hardik can't bowl and the back has been a constant issue with him, the fifth bowler's quota could also be a potential sore spot.

They bid heavily on Rahul Tewatia, who apart from that one innings and has not done anything noteworthy in IPL with either bat or ball.

Purse entered: INR 52 crore

Purse left: INR 0.15 crore

Biggest buys: Lockie Ferguson (INR 10 crore), Rahul Tewatia (INR 9 crore) Mohammed Shami (INR 6.25 crore)
