New Delhi: Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket is scheduled to clash against Sri Lanka in the three-match T20 International home series, starting from February 24. Team India's star bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar had suffered a hamstring injury during the last T20I against West Indies. As a result, the right-arm speedster was ruled out of the Ind vs SL T20I series.
Due to the hamstring injury, Chahar might even miss the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, a report in Times Of India (TOI) stated. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had bought Chahal for a whopping Rs 14 crore.
Deepak Chahar getting ruled out of this year's IPL will be a huge setback for MS Dhoni-led CSK as the defending champions had acquired the young pacer for a whopping amount, making him the second most expensive player to be sold in the IPL 2022 mega auction.
"His injury looks bad. For all you know, he could be out of the IPL too (he was bought by the Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 crore in the IPL auction)," a source was quoted as saying by TOI.
It remains to be seen whether Deepak Chahar will gain full fitness for the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is expected to start in the last week of March.
