New Delhi: The action-packed cricketing action in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 that lasted for over two months is now over. Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets in the summit clash to win IPL 2022 final in their debut season itself. Many former cricketers have picked their IPL 2022 XI after the tournament's conclusion. Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh, who was part of IPL 2022 as a commentator, picked his best playing XI of IPL 2022. Notably, the legendary spinner hasn't picked any player from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI).
Chennai (4) and Mumbai (5) together have won 9 titles in IPL. But this time both the teams failed to even qualify for IPL 2022 playoffs.
Harbhajan, in conversation with Sportskeeda, picked Orange Cap holder Jos Buttler and KL Rahul as openers. RR's Butler scored 863 runs in 17 matches while Rahul scored 616 runs in 15 matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad's Rahul Tripathi has been picked as a number 3 batter. Harbhajan picked Liam Livingstone, who hit the longest six of IPL 2022, for number four in the middle order. Hardik Pandya has been picked as captain and to bat at number five in the team.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are the big names missing from Harbhajan's best playing XI of IPL 2022. Dinesh Karthik gets the role of wicket-keeper in Harbhajan's team. Kolkata Knight Riders' Andre Russell has also been picked for the team. Rashid Khan, and Yuzvendra Chahal come in as spinners while the responsibility of fast bowling has been given to Umran Malik and Josh Hazlewood.
