New Delhi: Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals are scheduled to play their next match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday in the 55th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. However, ahead of the much-awaited clash, bad news has come from the Delhi Capitals camp. A net bowler of Delhi Capitals has tested positive for Coronavirus, the Indian Express reported. Following the sad development, Delhi Capitals players and support staff will have to go through another round of testing and till then all the players will remain isolated in their rooms as per the Covid protocol made by the BCCI for IPL 2022.

According to the Indian Express, a bowler who was staying in the team hotel room with Covid positive net bowler has also been sent to isolation. Delhi Capitals are currently at number five in the IPL 2022 Points Table with 5 wins and 5 losses out of 10 games.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting had tested positive for Coronavirus due to which he was forced to miss some IPL matches. Apart from this, among foreign players Tim Seifert, Mitchell Marsh, 4 members of the Delhi Capitals support staff were also infected with the dreaded virus, last month. The schedule and venue of Delhi Capitals matches were also changed after Covid cases surfaced in the Delhi camp.
