New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced prize money of Rs 1.25 crore for the curator and groundsman for organizing the spectacular Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah informed about the development via his official Twitter handle. According to Jay Shah's tweet, the four stadiums that organize the league stage, CCI, Wankhede, DY Patil, and MCA, will get a reward of Rs 25 lakhs each, while the curators and groundsmen of Eden Gardens in Kolkata and Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad for the playoffs will be awarded 12.25 lakhs each.


"I'm pleased to announce a prize money of INR 1.25 crores for the men who gave us the best games in #TATAIPL 2022. The unsung heroes - our curators and groundsmen across 6 IPL venues this season," Jay Shah informed on Twitter.


"We've witnessed some high octane games and I would like thank each one of them for their hardwork. 25 lacs each for CCI, Wankhede, DY Patil and MCA, Pune. 12.5 lacs each for Eden and Narendra Modi Stadium," he concluded.






All 70 matches of the IPL 2022 league stage were played in Maharashtra, hosted by CCI, Wankhede, DY Patil and MCA. Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore qualified for the playoffs after playing 70 league matches on these grounds.


After the end of league stage, Qualifier 2 and IPL 2022 Final were hosted by Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Rajasthan defeated Bangalore in Qualifier 2 to make it to the finals. On May 29, Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals to clinch the IPL title in their debut season.
