Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma came together for a noble cause as the star couple started a fundraising campaign to aid India's fight against COVID-19 in the country.

With the daily number of Covid-19 cases exceeding the 3 lakh mark, the second wave of coronavirus has wreaked havoc in the country and is leading to many deaths.

For the unversed, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma donated INR 2 crores in their fundraising campaign and have set a target of raising a total of INR 7 crore through their 'In This Together' campaign for Coronavirus relief work.

Overwhelmed with the response from fans, Virat Kohli on Saturday took to Twitter to inform that an amount of INR 3.6 crore has been collected in less than 24 hours for their campaign. Virat and Anushka have another reason to rejoice as Royal Challengers Bangalore's star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal reportedly donated INR 95,000 towards their campaign.

Earlier on Friday, Virat had tweeted,"Anushka and I have started a campaign on @ketto, to raise funds for Covid-19 relief, and we would be grateful for your support. Let’s all come together and help those around us in need of our support. I urge you all to join our movement. Link in Bio!"

"Things have been very tough for India, as we fight the pandemic, and it really pains us to see our country suffer like this," Kohli and Anushka said in a video. "We are grateful to all the people who have been fighting for us day and night. Their dedication is appreciated."
