New Delhi: An all-round performance from Chennai Super Kings helped them defeat Mumbai Indians by 20 runs at Dubai international stadium in the UAE leg opener of IPL 2021. After opting to bat first, Chennai scored 156/6 in 20 overs. In reply, Mumbai Indians could only score 136 runs in the allotted overs. This is the sixth win for Chennai in IPL 2021, who now have 12 points from eight matches and sits at the top of IPL 14 Points Table.

With this victory, Chennai also avenged the defeat in the first half of IPL 2021. In the first half played in India, Chennai could not win the match even after scoring 218 runs against Mumbai. However, today Chennai avenged that frustrating defeat.

Earlier in the match, aggressor Ruturaj Gaikwad's heroic unbeaten 58-ball 88 run knock and a solid 81-run partnership with Ravindra Jadeja for the fifth wicket powered Chennai Super Kings to a decent 156/6 against Mumbai. Special mention to DJ Bravo's 8-ball 23 fiery knock that pushed CSK for a good 1st innings total and ended their innings on a high.

A flawless bowling performances of Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult and Adam Milne in the initial overs put Mumbai right on top in the game as Faf, Moeen, Raina, Dhoni all were dismissed just 24 inside the powerplay.

Captain MS Dhoni came to the crease after the fall of CSK's first three wickets for just seven runs in three overs. But he failed to make any sort of impact and got out for just three runs off five balls.

Adam Milne bowled brilliantly for Mumbai. The speedster bagged two wickets for just 21 runs in his four overs. Apart from him, Trent Boult and Jasprit Bamurah also took two wickets each but both proved to be a bit expensive in terms of runs.
