New Delhi: Legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Sunday unleashed beast mode to turn back the clock as he played a knock which will be remembered by his fans for a long time. Despite not being in form, Mahi decided to come out to bat ahead of in-form Ravindra Jadeja when Chennai Super Kings needed 24 runs off 11 balls to become IPL 2021's first finalists.
Delhi, the table-toppers at the end of league stage, had everything under their control and victory seemed inevitable for them with Avesh Khan and Tom Curran operating superbly with the ball. However, Dhoni played a fiery 6-ball 18 run knock to shock Delhi and seal the final berth for his team with 2 balls remaining.
Dhoni's vintage performance had set social media, especially Twitter on fire but the tweet that garnered maximum attention was of RCB skipper Virat Kohli. The Indian captain hailed MS Dhoni by calling him the "greatest finisher ever".
“Anddddd the king is back the greatest finisher ever in the game. Made me jump Outta my seat once again tonight. @msdhoni,” tweeted Kohli.
Prior to sharing the above tweet, Virat Kohli had earlier shared a tweet but deleted it later. “Anddddd the king is back the greatest finisher in the game. Made me jump Outta my seat once again tonight. @msdhoni,” the Indian cricket team skipper had written in the tweet.
Virat started his international career under MS Dhoni's captaincy and was later handed the captaincy. Dhoni played his last international match under Virat's captaincy. The heartfelt tweet from Virat Kohli to express his love and admiration for Kohli has gone viral and garnered over 50K likes,
