Delhi Capitals got a major boost ahead of its next match in IPL 2021 as its star all-rounder Axar Patel has joined his squad after spending nearly three weeks in a hospital in Mumbai after testing positive for the dreaded Coronavirus.
The 27-year-old had earlier joined the Delhi Capitals in Mumbai on March 28. He entered the bio-bubble with a negative report, but on April 3, he tested positive for the virus. He showed mild symptoms after which he was sent to the Medical Faculty of the Indian Cricket Board.

"Smiles and hugs all around as Bapu returned to the DC camp," Delhi Capitals wrote on Instagram. "Oh, how we missed you, @akshar.patel".
Axar Patel was the second player in the IPL to get infected with this deadly virus after Royal Challengers Bangalore's Devdutt Padikal. In the absence of Axar, Delhi added Shams Mulani of Mumbai to their team.
A BCCI SOP says that if a player tests positive then he has to isolate himself outside the bio-secure zones for a minimum of 10 days from the day the player was first found positive in the RT-PCR Test.
"During the 10-day isolation, the individial must rest and avoid any exercises. The team doctor should regularly monitor the case. If symptoms worsen during the course of isolation, the individual must be hospitalized immediately." the SOP reads.
