Delhi Capitals will take on Chennai Super Kings on Saturday in the second match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 14.


The selection of Playing 11 in the match against Chennai Super Kings is going to be a difficult task for the new captain of Delhi Capitals Rishabh Pant. Rishabh Pant will face difficulty choosing best XI among so many deserving candidates, as well as the quarantine rules have increased his trouble further.


The Delhi Capitals will play their first game in IPL 2021 without their two front line fast bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje. Both these players reached India on 7 April. Due to the Coronavirus protocols, both these players will have to remain under quarantine for 7 days.

Delhi Capitals will most likely give Prithvi Shaw a chance to open with Shikhar Dhawan, given his current superb form. At number three, Delhi Capitals can bet on stylish Aussie batsman Steve Smith. Captain Rishabh Pant will come out to bat at number four.


Pant might give the command of the middle order to two foreign players Sam Billings and Marcus Stoinis. Apart from this, the Delhi Capitals skipper will also rely on four Indian bowlers Ravichandran Ashwin, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav.


As a backup for Rabada, Delhi Capitals have a very good option in the form of Chris Woakes. Apart from Woakes, Delhi Capitals can also give Tom Curran a chance in today's Playing XI.
