India vs Zimbabwe ODIs: The Indian cricket team will play a three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe from August 18. All three matches will be played in Harare. KL Rahul has been declared fit by the Indian Cricket Board's medical team, after which the stylish opener has been handed over the command of the team for the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. Senior opener Shikhar Dhawan was earlier appointed captain for this series but with Rahul making a comeback, Dhawan will take over the role of vice-captain.

The Indian squad will leave on August 14 for the Zimbabwe tour, with VVS Laxman reportedly as the head coach. Meanwhile, in what can be seen as a big setback for India, Washington Sundar, who was included in the Indian squad for India vs Zimbabwe ODI series, may be ruled out of the team due to a shoulder issue, Cricbuzz reported. Sundar sustained a shoulder issue after he dived to save a boundary while playing a List A match for Lancashire in the Royal London One-Day Cup in Manchester, England.

Sundar was to fly directly from the United Kingdom (UK) to Harare for Zimbabwe ODIs but this might not be the case now as his shoulder issue has raised doubts over his participation in the Zimbabwe ODIs. An official update regarding Sundar's participation in Ind vs Zim ODIs might be out soon.

Sundar has not played an international match since he injured his bowling arm during the Indian Premier League (IPL) earlier this year. However, he has returned to county cricket and the upcoming series against Zimbabwe was his first against India in four months.
