At one point it seemed that Raza would finish off things in style to get his team past the winning line but centurion Shubman Gill took a stunning diving catch in the penultimate over to pull back things in India's favor. Raza was given a standing ovation by the fans as returned back to the pavilion following his hard-fought knock against one of the best teams in world cricket.

India captain KL Rahul won the toss, and elected to bat first after which the visitors scored 289 runs in 50 overs. For India, Shubman Gill (130), Ishan Kishan (50), Shikhar Dhawan (40) and KL Rahul (30) were the top contributors. Zimbabwe was bundled out for 275 runs in 49.3 overs and lost the match by 13 runs.

After the game, Shubman Gill dedicated the ton to his father.

"I was just trying to minimise my dot ball percentage. I tried to hit the gaps as much as possible. When I went in, there were a couple of bowlers bowling good. It was crucial to get through that. Once we were settled, we knew we could attack," Gill, who claimed the Player of the Match award, said in the post-match presentation.

"Feels good when you are with the same bunch. My father has been my primary coach. I got a schooling after I got out in the second ODI, so I dedicate this to him."
