Virat Kohli nearing Sachin Tendulkar's mega record

Indian batting icon Sachin Tendulkar has scored 49 ODI tons in his ODI career. Kohli, in IND vs SL 3rd ODI, scored his 46th ODI century. The flamboyant batter now needs only 4 ODI tons to break Sachin's record. It is highly likely that Virat will easily surpass Sachin's ODI record in 2023.

Post the conclusion of this series, India will host New Zealand for a white-ball series comprising 3 ODIs followed by as many T20Is after which the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy will get underway in February.
