Ind vs SL: Ishan Kishan Ruled Out Of Series After Suffering Head Injury In 2nd T20I

New Delhi: Team India's star wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan was reportedly taken to Himachal Pradesh's Fortis Hospital in Kangra for treatment, on Saturday, after getting struck on the head by a pacy bouncer bowled by Sri Lankan bowler Lahiru Kumara.


In what comes as a positive update for all Ishan Kishan fans, the MI player has been discharged from the hospital but is under the Board of Control in India (BCCI) medical team's close observation. However, he has been ruled out of the 3rd T20I.

"Ishan Kishan was struck on the head while batting in the 2nd T2OI at Dharamsala on Saturday. Accompanied by a Team Doctor, he was taken to a local hospital last night for a check-up where a CT scan was conducted. The findings of the CT scan are normal.


"The BCCI Medical Team will continue to closely monitor his signs of concussion.


"Ishan is ruled out of the third and final T20I against Sri Lanka," a media release from BCCI stated.


During Ind vs SL 2nd T20I, a 146 kmph delivery had hit Ishan on his helmet in the fourth over of the Indian innings. Despite team India physio's advice, Ishan continued playing but lost his wicket soon after. In the match, he scored 16 runs off 15 balls and was caught by Dasun Sanaka off Kumar's bowling.


"Ishan Kishan discharged from the hospital but he is under close observation of BCCI's medical team. He is likely to be rested from the third T20I against Sri Lanka," sources in the know of developments told ANI.

India managed to register an easy win owing to the batting master class of Shreyas Iyer and Ravindra Jadeja. Iyer, who was named man of the match has been in tremendous form of late.
