New Delhi: An all-around performance from the Indian cricket team helped them win the third and final T20I by six wickets to complete a 3-0 series clean sweep over Sri Lanka, on Sunday, at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. With this win, team India has now equaled the world record for most wins in T20 International cricket in a row and finished third straight T20I series whitewash.
Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and batted first against India. Their decision to invite the hosts to bowl first proved to be a disaster for them as the Indian bowlers rocked the Sri Lankan batting line-up to restrict them to just 146/5 in their allotted 20 overs. For team India, Avesh Khan bagged two wickets, while spinner Ravi Bishnoi, Harshal Patel, and Mohammed Siraj picked one wicket apiece.
For the visitors, Dasun Shanaka played a captain's knock and stitched a solid stand with Dinesh Chandimal to power his team to a respectable total.
Sri Lanka had a poor start to their innings and after losing quick wickets, they were restricted to 18 runs for loss of three wickets after the end of powerplay. With Sri Lanka in deep trouble, captain Shanaka took things under control and made sure his team posted a good 1st innings total on board.
