New Delhi: Rohit Sharma, the newly-appointed Test vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, has stepped up his preparations before leaving for the South Africa tour.

After taking a rest from India's two-match Test series against New Zealand, Rohit's focus is now on returning to his rhythm before the tour to South Africa. Team India has to play a three-match Test series on the tour of South Africa from 26th December.

Rohit Sharma posted a video on his Instagram account on Friday, in which he can be seen doing some intense batting practice.

During practice, he is seen facing some fiery deliveries with a lot of bounce, very similar to the ones he might face from the South African fast-bowlers in near future. It looks like Rohit is practicing according to the conditions he might have to face in South Africa.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently appointed Rohit as the new vice-captain of the Test team. Along with this, he has also been entrusted with the captaincy of the ODI team.

BCCI selected an 18-member Indian team for India's tour to South Africa, in which Rohit has been made the new vice-captain. The star opener will replace Ajinkya Rahane.

Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara have also found place in the Test team while Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have returned in India's Test team.
