New Delhi: Fans were super excited to see India's Test captain Virat Kohli in action in the India vs South Africa 2nd Test in Johannesburg. However, the star batter was unfortunately ruled out of the Ind vs SA 2nd Test due to back spasm.


The 33-year-old is just two Tests away from playing his 100th Test match. The news of Virat getting ruled out of the fixture broke million hearts. While Karnataka batter KL Rahul took over the captaincy duties, speedster Jasprit Bumrah was named vice-captain.


Meanwhile, a video is going viral on social media in which Virat Kohli can be seen having an intense chat with South African players , in their dugout.






“Unfortunately Virat has had an upper back spasm and hopefully he’ll recover for the next Test. It is every Indian player’s dream to captain his country. Really honored and looking forward to this challenge. We have had a few good wins here and hopefully we’ll look to continue that,” KL Rahul said during the toss session.


“We really performed well as a team and are really excited about this match,” added Rahul.


Speaking of the ongoing Ind vs SA contest, Shardul Thakur picked a maiden five-wicket haul to stun the hosts South Africa, restricting them to 229 on Day 2.


South Africa lead India by 27 runs after the end of their first innings. Batting first after winning the toss, India were bowled out for a paltry 202.
