New Delhi: The Indian cricket team is slated to tour South Africa from June 9 for a five-match T20 International series. Ahead of the much-awaited Ind vs SA clash, South Africa has announced a 16-member squad for India vs South Africa T20 series. Anrich Nortje returns to the Temba Bevuma-led T20 squad, while Tristan Stubbs has been named in the team for the first time. Most of the South African players named in the 16-member squad are currently playing the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 in India. The final match of IPL 2022 is to be played on 29th May. It is being reported that regular skipper Rohit Sharma and senior batter Virat Kohli can be rested for this series.

Keeping in mind upcoming India tour of England, key players Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja will be rested for India vs South Africa T20 series.
In the five T20 matches against South Africa, the players who have performed well in the IPL can be given a place. Tilak Verma, Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh can make a place in the team under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan. Before the meeting of the selectors, the health update of Suryakumar Yadav, who was injured in the IPL, will also be taken into consideration.
Speculations are also rife that the team playing the T20Is against South Africa will tour Ireland for the T20Is on June 26 and 28, while the senior players will be busy with the England tour.
