New Delhi: Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Tuesday announced they have decided to release fast bowler Kagiso Rabada from the Proteas squad for the three-match ODI series against India. Keeping in mind the workload management, CSA decided to release Rabada from the ODI series.

Rabada being rested for India-South Africa ODIs is a big setback for the hosts as the speedster had bagged 20 wickets to become highest wicket-taker for his team in the Ind vs SA three-match Test series, which Proteas won 2-1.

The board also made it clear that no other player has been brought in as replacement in place of Rabada, but George Linde has been kept in the team as an additional spin bowling option. Ind vs SA 1st ODI of the three-match ODI series will be played in Paarl on Wednesday.

"Proteas seam bowler, Kagiso Rabada, has been released from the team for the Betway One-Day International (ODI) series against India due to high workloads over a sustained period of time and the need for him to recover prior the outbound Test series against New Zealand next month," Cricket South Africa (CSA) said in a statement.
