Former Pakistan bowler Sohail Khan is in the news for his controversial comments. He had recently said that there wasn't anything special about the six Virat Kohli had hit against Harris Rauf in last year's T20 World Cup and that former India skipper MS Dhoni had once requested him to not sledge him. Now, in his latest jibe at Indian cricketers, the former Pak pacer targeted Jammu and Kashmir pacer Umran Malik, one of the most promising talents in Indian cricket.
Sohail said there are many bowlers in Pakistan's domestic circuit, like India's Umran Malik, who can bowl over 150 kmph.
Umran's mentor Irfan Pathan has come up with a hard-hitting response to Sohail's claims, stating that his comments should be ignored as he is desperate for attention.
"Pakistani cricketer says Umran Malik jaise humare domestic cricket mein bhare pade hain. Javed Miandad said the same about Irfan Pathan. Phir Irfan ne Pakistan mein ja kar Pakistan ki team ka band bajaya tha. Yaar tum log thoda kam bola karo (Pakistan cricketer says there are plenty of bowlers like Umran Malik in our domestic circuit. Javed Miandad had said the same about Irfan Pathan. He then went to Pakistan and proved his worth. Pakistanis should speak less)," a social media user said.
"Major sahab ese statements de kar inhe attention chahiye. Ignore maariye," Irfan reacted to the post.
Umran Malik, one of the great finds for the Indian cricket team, has the ability to trouble batters by consistently bowling at speeds of over 150 km/h. Despite bowling with such sheer pace, the 23-year-old has been good with his line and length and the way has been bowling recently, he might soon cement his spot in India's 2023 ODI World Cup squad.
