India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2022 Highlights: Team India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya starred both with the bat and bowl to help India clinch a nail-biting thriller against Pakistan at the Dubai International cricket stadium on Sunday. The all-rounder played a match-winning inning of 33 not out off 17 balls with the help of four fours and a six after taking three wickets for 25 runs. India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in their Asia Cup 2022 match at the very same venue where Pakistan had defeated them by 10 wickets in the T20 World Cup 2021. With this, India finally avenged its T20 World Cup defeat.

In the match, seven-time Asia Cup winners India, after winning the toss, bowled out Pakistan for 147 runs in 19.5 overs and then chased down the target in 19.4 overs after losing five wickets.

Chasing the target of 148 runs, India were off to a poor start as they lost the wicket of opener KL Rahul (0) in the very first over of their innings. However, after this captain Rohit Sharma (12) and Virat Kohli (35), playing his 100 T20I match, shared a solid 49 run solid stand for the second wicket off 46 balls. But the half-century partnership of both the batsmen could not be completed as Mohammad Nawaz first dismissed Rohit and Virat in quick successions to push the Men in Blue on backfoot.

Virat, making his comeback after almost a month break, scored 35 runs in 34 balls with the help of three fours and a six.

After losing three wickets for 53 runs in the 10th over, Suryakumar Yadav (18) and Ravindra Jadeja (35) shared a 36-run partnership for the fourth wicket. The long-standing partnership was once again broken by Naseem when he bowled out Suryakumar.

India now needed 51 runs in the last 5 overs to win the match and Hardik Pandya was present at the crease along with Jadeja.  From here, Jadeja and Pandya shared a 52-run partnership for the fifth wicket to take India to victory.

India needed 7 runs in the last over which was bowled by Mohammad Nawaz. Hardik held his nerves to give India a win by hitting a six.
