Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razza has taken a surprising stand on the ongoing India-Pakistan Asia Cup standoff saga. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are at loggerheads over hosting rights of this year's Asia Cup. Pakistan wants the tournament to be played in their country, while India, who wants the tournament to be shifted to a neutral venue, have made it clear that they won't travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup. As per latest media reports, Asia Cup 2023 will be hosted by UAE in March with Pakistan being the organisers.
"Cricket ke liye bada accha hai, promotion of cricket ke liye bada accha hai. kaafi saal ho gye hain India aur Pakistan ke matches nahi hue. Hamein ICC ke tournament me in hi ye matches dekhne ko milte hain. Agar ye venue change hua hai, best option hai. Ismein, unko (PCB) ko maan lena chahiye. If Asia Cup has been shifted to Dubai, then it's the best option. It's good for cricket and cricketers)," Razzaq told Geo Super.
When asked if India shouldn't be allowed to host ICC events because of their refusal to tour Pakistan, Razzaq said," It doesn't happen like this. This has been on for years. If the two boards sit across the table and chat, it would be great. Both boards should solve this issue."
