Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) star batter Nitish Rana recently liked a Twitter post highlighting star India batter Ishan Kishan's horrendous form in his last 15 T20 Internationals. Kishan has been in great form in the 50-overs format as he recently scored a magical double ton in the format but his form has been totally different in the shortest format.
The young wicket-keeper batter was preferred at the top to open the innings alongside Shubman Gill in the ongoing India vs New Zealand T20 series but he failed to return with good scores.
The Twitter post liked by Nitish highlighted Kishan's horrific T20 stats. As per the viral post, Ishan Kishan, the star Mumbai Indians (MI) batter, scored 199 runs at an average of 15.30 in his last 15 innings.
Kishan is regarded as a talented 'hard-hitter', one of the 'neatest strikers of white ball' in modern era but the stats show that in his last 15 T20 innings, he scored runs with an average strike rate of just 106.41. In the five matches in 2023, he amassed 63 runs at an average of 12.60 with his last outing (Ind vs NZ 2nd T20I in Lucknow) being a struggle - 19 (32).

Last year, in an exclusive interview with India Today, Nitish Rana expressed his desire to make his comeback to the national team. His maiden and so far only national call-up came in 2021 for India's tour of Sri Lanka.
“What’s in my hands is to score runs, and improve my game. Hopefully, I will score more runs this season. If somebody is not picking me for 400 runs (in IPL seasons) then my job is to score 600 runs,” Nitish Rana said to India Today.
“As a cricketer, I always want opportunities to play international cricket. I wasn’t comfortable in the position that I played. But I wouldn’t like to make any excuses. I hope to score 500+ runs in the upcoming IPL so that selectors can get attention,” he added.
