New Delhi: The Indian cricket team will lock horns against New Zealand on Sunday in their second match of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021. Virat Kohli & Co. will aim to end India's "losing streak" against New Zealand. Last time, India defeated New Zealand in any ICC event was in the year 2003, when Sourav Ganguly-led India crushed Stephen Fleming-led New Zealand by seven wickets in the ODI World Cup match, at Centurion. Since then, India is yet to win a match against New Zealand in any ICC tournament.

It's a must-win match for both the teams, who were defeated by Pakistan in the tournament earlier. Before the 2003 World Cup, India had defeated New Zealand twice at home during the 1987 World Cup.

Since 2003, India has clashed against the Kiwis thrice in World Cups and has lost all three times, which also includes the heart-breaking 2019 ODI World Cup semi-finals loss. Overall, India and New Zealand have locked horns 10 times in all formats of the World Cup, out of which India have won only three matches and lost seven.
