IND vs NZ, ICC World Cup 2019, Semi-Final 1: India shall be playing New Zealand in the first semifinal of the ICC World Cup 2019 at the Old Trafford Ground in Manchester. The Indian team comes into the semis on the back of a brilliant spree of victories in the round robin stage, which saw them winning seven out their nine matches and ending up on the top on the points table.

The 'Men in Blue' who have been formidable with both bat and ball have inflicted some crushing defeats on their opponents.

While India's batting efforts have been led by their swashbuckling opener Rohit Sharma, it has been the fast bowling pair of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami who consistently produced match winning spells with the ball to turn around some close encounters in their team's favour.

The Indian team was held in good stead owing to some notable contributions from the willow by skipper Virat Kohli and opener KL Rahul. Meanwhile all-rounder Hardik Pandya produced some match winning cameos to provide the late flourish towards the end of some nerve wrecking encounters.

Here are some of the major milestones which can be achieved by Indian players during the India-New Zealand semifinal clash at Old Trafford.

Rohit Sharma (647 runs) is 27 runs away to become the highest run-scorer in a single Cricket World Cup edition. Only the legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar (673 runs in 2003 CWC) and the former Australian opener Matthew Hayden (659 runs in 2007 CWC) are ahead of Rohit in this list.

Rohit Sharma (977 runs) needs to 23 runs more to become the fourth Indian batsman to score 1,000 runs at the World Cup.

MS Dhoni will play his 350th ODI match. He will become the 10th cricketer to play at least 350 ODI matches. Among the Indian cricketers, only Sachin Tendulkar (463 ODIs) played 350+ ODIs.

Another century will help Rohit Sharma (six centuries) become the highest ton maker in Cricket World Cup history. He is currently level with Sachin Tendulkar on six CWC centuries.

If Rohit scores a century in the match against New Zealand, then he will be the second player to hit four successive centuries in CWC as well as in ODI history. In 2015 Cricket World Cup, Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) was the first man to hit four consecutive centuries.

Virat Kohli (442 runs) is 24 runs away to become the leading run-scorer as an Indian captain in a CWC edition. Kohli is only behind of Sourav Ganguly who scored 465 runs as an Indian captain in 2003 Cricket World Cup.

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami (31 wickets) is one wicket away from becoming the third highest wicket-taker for India in Cricket World Cup history. Currently, he is placed alongside leg-spinner Anil Kumble with 31 wickets. The top two Indian wicket takers in World Cup are Zaheer Khan (44 wickets) and Javagal Srinath (44 wickets).
