New Delhi: Fans present in the crowd at Lord's were spotted cheering for Virat Kohli and Jonny Bairstow on Thursday ahead of India's second ODI against England. In a viral video shared by the official broadcasters on Twitter, Virat can be seen having a long intense chat with Bairstow. The reason behind fans getting excited seeing the two interact was because both star batters were involved in a heated altercation during India vs England rescheduled Test in Edgbaston, which the hosts won to end five-match series 2-2.

Things had gotten pretty intense when Virat and Bairstow engaged in a war of words in the Edgbaston Test, leading the on-field umpires to intervene to calm things down. All this worked in England's favour as Bairstow as he went on to score a brisk 106 off 140 balls.

"Nah, there was literally nothing to it. We've played against each other for a solid 10 years now. It's a bit of craic (having good time, enjoyable social activity). We're fiercely competitive on the field and that's what it's about," Bairstow told media.

"We're playing Test cricket and we're two competitors. It brings the best out of us. Whatever it takes, you want to get your team over the line and that's part and parcel of the game."

After India's defeat in 2nd ODI, Rohit backed Kohli sayig his spot in the national team is secure. "As I have said previously, form can go up and down, it's part and parcel for every cricketer's career. Even the greatest of the cricketer would have his share of ups and downs," he said.

"For someone who has won so many matches for India, you need one or two innings to bounce back. That's what I feel and I am sure all those who follow cricket will think similarly."
