New Delhi: The Indian cricket team is training hard for a four-day warm-up match against county club Leicestershire from June 24 to 27. The team was practicing in London upon their arrival but now they have shifted base to Leicestershire where they will practice for a week. Team India has to play the only Test match against England from July 1.

Some players including Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, and Virat Kohli had reached England earlier, while skipper Rohit Sharma left for England tour a day later. Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and Rahul Dravid, who were part of the T20 series against South Africa, have also reached England.

A five-match Test series took place between India and England in 2021. The last and final Test had to be canceled after Covid-19 positive cases in the Indian camp with India leading 2-1 after first four Tests. The deciding Test match of the series will now be played from July 1, 2022. Meanwhile, BCCI took to Twitter to post some pictures of the Indian team's training session from Leicestershire.

Team India seems to be training hard ever since reaching England. Last year, Rohit Sharma, who did not captain India back then in 2021, batted remarkably well in the first four Test matches of this series. At that time, Virat Kohli was leading the team with Ravi Shastri as the head coach. England, on other hand, will face India with a new head coach and captain. Ben Stokes is the captain of the team, while Brendon McCullum is the new head coach.
