IND vs BAN 1st Test: KL Rahul-led team India is currently playing a two-match Test series against Bangladesh. In what comes as highly positive news for the visiting team, senior opener Rohit Sharma is likely to be available for selection for IND vs BAN 2nd Test, which starts in Mirpur from December 22. "Rohit went for rehabilitation and will recover in time before the second Test match and will fly to Bangladesh for the match," ANI reported.


Rohit suffered a thumb injury while fielding during India vs Bangladesh 2nd ODI after which he was ruled out of the third and final ODI. His persistent thumb injury has been keeping him out of action. The star opener missed the first Test, which started on December 14, as he had to return to Mumbai to get medical consultation from a specialist.


27-year-old uncapped batter Abhimanyu Easwaran replaced Rohit Sharma in India's Test team for the series opener. However, it was KL Rahul and Shubman Gill who opened the innings for team India.


Apart from Rohit, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami are other senior Indian players who have been ruled out of the ongoing India vs Bangladesh Test series due to injuries.


Rohit Sharma, so far has played 45 Test matches for the national team, scoring 3137 runs at an average of 46.13, with help of 8 centuries and 14 half-centuries. Rohit's return will definitely act as a major boost for the KL Rahul led team.


IND vs BAN 1st Test: India dominates Bangladesh on Day 3


Bangladesh ended day 3 at 42/0 against India and need 471 runs more to win IND vs BAN 1st Test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. Earlier, heroic tons from Cheteshwar Pujara (102*) and Shubman Gill (110) helped team India declare at 258/2 after taking a lead of 512 runs. On day 2, Kuldeep Yadav's five-fer bundled out Bangladesh for just 150 runs.
