After setting India a daunting target of 185, Australians bowled out India for 99 with seamer Megan Schutt leading the bowling efforts with 4 wickets and conceding just 18 runs.. Jess Jonassen picked 3 wickets while Delissa Kimmince, Nicola Carey and scalped a wicket each
Australia are world champions for the fifth time after beating India by 85 runs in the grand finale played out at Melbourne
Just as when India looked to get back into the game, Delissa Kimmince scalped Krishnamurthy to dent any hopes of a revival .. India have lost half their side with 120 runs still needed to win the target
At the half way mark, India are way behind the asking rate with just 54 runs on the board. To make matters worse they have lost four wickets. Australia do sense a massive win from here on unless there is something special still left by the Indian batsmen.
